When Lord Shiva came to know this, he destroyed the fire and carrying Devi Sati’s body on his shoulders started roaming unconsciously through the Himalayan ranges. Lord Vishnu felt that if the final rites are not made, she couldn’t take rebirth as goddess Paarvati and with his Sudarshan Chakra cut her body into pieces.
