Uttarakhand is also known as Dev Bhoomi (Land of Gods) as it is the land of great pilgrimages, sacred temples and places, which attracts millions of pilgrims and spiritual seekers to get enlightenment. The pilgrimages of Char Dhams located in Garhwal region are considered the most sacred places in India: Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. These four ancient temples also marks the spiritual source of four sacred rivers as well: River Yamuna (Yamunotri), River Ganga or Ganges (Gangotri), River Mandakini (Kedarnath) and River Alaknanda (Badrinath). It is considered highly sacred by Hindus to visit Char Dham during one's lifetime.
Yamunotri Dham (14 May 2021 To 27 Oct. 2021) - Is the source of the Yamuna River and the seat of the Goddess Yamuna and located – around 30 kms North of Uttarkashi at an elevation of 3164 meters from the sea level, It is the only place where the devotees can find both the amalgamation of hot and cold environment. The temple is accessible by 13 Kms from the town of Hanuman Chatti and 6 Kms trek from Janki Chatt. The best time to visit the temple is May to June and September to November.
One can cook rice by packing it in a cloth and dipping it in the hot water of the hot pond. Pilgrims take this cooked rice home as "Prasad". Here near the temple "Pooja" can be offered to Divya Shila, after taking bath in Jamunabai Kund's warm water and then returning to Hanumanchatti. Later drive back to Barkot. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Gangotri Dham (14 May 2021 To 29 Oct. 2021) - is considered to be the origin of Ganga River and lies at an altitude of 3,200 mts from the sea level. The original temple was constructed by the Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa in the early years of 18th century and later rebuilt by the Maharaja of Jaipur. The shrine of Gangotri temple is 18th century old with an exquisite 20 ft structure made of white granite. Te main time to visit is May to June and September to October.
Kedarnath Dham (17 May 2021 To 29 Oct. 2021) - located in Rudraprayag district elevated at an altitude of 3584 meter near the Mandakini River. The temple was built by Adi guru Shankaracharya, Due to heavy snowfall during winters; the temple open only between the ends of April to Kartik Purnima. During winters, the idol dropped at Ukhimath from Kedarnath Dham and idolized there for 6 months.
Badrinath Dham (18 May 2021 To 29 Oct. 2021) - Temple located in Chamoli district and elevated at an altitude of 3415 mtrs on the bank of Alaknanada River. Along the Badrinath temple there are some other interesting sightseeing spot like Mana, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund and the "Mukh" of the Saraswati River.

Itinerary
Day: 1 Rishikesh - Barkot (210kms/7hr)
Morning drive Barkot from Rishikesh, Haridwar, Dehradun via Mussoorie. Along the route visit Kempty Fall.
Day 02: Barkot - Yamunotri - Barkot (36kms drive & 6 kms Trek one side)
Drive to Hanuman Chatti, from here you have to take local jeeps on your own for Janki chatti (8kms), trek begin from here to Yamunotri (6kms). Either by walk or by horse or by Doli at own cost then drive back to Barkot
Day 03: Barkot - Uttarkashi (100kms/4hr)
Morning drive to Uttarkashi later visit Vishwanath Temple.
Day 04: Uttarkashi - Gangotri - Uttarkashi (100kms/3hr each side)
Proceed to Gangotri, on the route visit Harsil village, Bhagirathi river along the beautiful view of the Himalayas and after Gangotri Darshan drive back to the Uttarkashi.
Day 05: Uttarkashi- Sonprayag (245kms/7hrs)
Early morning, via Ghansali drive to Sonprayag. It is the closest place of confluence of river Mandakini and river Alaknanda.
Day 06: Sonprayag - Kedarnath (8kms drive & 15kms Trek each side)
Early morning start your 15 kms trek to Kedarnath or you may hire Palki, Horse to avoid trek or you may go by helicopter on your own cost from 8 kms back Phata place.
Day 07: Kedarnath - Chopta (85kms/4-5hrs Drive)
Drive directly Chopta via Ukhimath and visit Chopta with Tungnath Temple and Chandrashila peak (depend on time).
Day 08: Chopta - Badrinath (210kms/6-7hrs)
Early morning drive to Badrinath
Day 9: Badrinath - Rishikesh (297kms/6-7hrs Drive)
Morning drive back to Rishikesh and visit Laxman Jhulla, Ram Jhulla and Ganga Arti.
